Well I just came back from the ART CENTER Visit
and I must say... DAMN?!?!?!!? [by the way, it is one of the top design school in the world]
It's pretty much THE PLACE I want to be
I basically had a portfolio review.. and the Director was quite impressed
So all I have to do is put it together "formally" and sent it in...
I might need package it a little and give it more of a professional "feel" to it
But this is definately the school to be.. forget San Fran!!
Now the problem is whether I do it back in Toronto or do it here in San Fransisco..
While away I heard back from Martin that I have a few projects on hand to do...
So maybe I still ofr an additional 2 weeks...
Hopefully I can get those photos of Art Center developed and put on web
But It is the prettiest darn specaular school U could have..
On top of a mountain... over-looking the city of Pasadena..
On the side note... I'm getting addicted to that new Sony PDA....
well... there's going to be some decision making in the next few days that's for sure...

Long tme no update...
It's been fricken busy and hectic..
All in all, I must say this trip to California has opened many doors, of not my eyes to the spectacular opportunities that are possible if you dare to dream it. I joke U not. Not that USA is the best country in the world. HELL NO!!!
But the fact is that, doing travelling and just risking your comfort zone to go to places where opportunity leads is an unexplainable experience. As many of U who are working and emerging into the world of money+independence, life becomes a huge game of LEGO. U built one piece after piece... U get a job, target salary, after a 1 year period of job security, U go hunt for a house, car, and raise a family.. .. and by the time U realze it... U are CHAINED... to everything above..

Especially those who are working in a "corporate ladder" type of job....
Those of U who are doctors, business/marketing field, banker, acountants, or any company structures... I hope U all have experienced the world before U get caught up with the LEGO building...

Enough of that....
About the interview with the PR job... It went great.. just a matter of where I'll be going to school.
I'll be taken care of pretty nicely if I decide to stay here in San Fran...
For the weekend of 22nd of June...
I'll be off to LA for visit to ARTCENTER in Pasadena. A very nice design school I'm interested in.
Gives me an excuse to sight see and stuff...
we'll see how that goes..

First off, I've updated some things on my portfolio
A concept CD tower and couple packaging designs for "Yan Can Cook"
Still pondering upon the Yan can Cook logo still...
hem.... still have time to work on it anyways

Tyson and Lewis fight... All I can say is.. DAMN?!?!?
did u see Tyson's face?
it's like he got stung by a swarm of bees
dang, of course Lewis has to wear his shades to cover his bruised face...
Tyson really got ot matched this time...
.. think he's gotten soft during his time in jail... maybe jail time with all those "big boys" has gotten him soft....

Ne'ways....
If all'yall followed my blogs, then U'll know my struggles lately, I hope ya'all feel me...
Trying to find school and a high paying job at the same time is FRICKEN HARD!
Add to the fact that I have no contact to start with is pretty hard.
Being without by car is depressing too...
I've been meeting ppl here and there.. a friend of a friend.. this guy and that guy...
It's getting kinda draining even on a "social-path" like me...
And when i really think about it...
EVEN if I get into a Industrial design school, AND a job
I was thinking... DANG I'm not going to get much sleep for the next half decade...
Industrial Design is practically as demanding as Engineering
because Industrial Design integrates both Design with Engineering in order to
bring forth what is known as Product Design and Transportation Design

With a $20 000+ Paying job, that would mean that I'll have to give a time-consuming commitment.
Balancing both heavy-weight would probably be my biggest challenge yet...

I haven't had much time to blogged lately...
I’ve been busy checking schools...
Most importantly, looking a for a job that'll support my US$30 000 tuition
For those who complain that the Canadian tuition is high..
Well TRUST ME?!?!?! It’s nothing compare the US
I’ve been getting to know my surrounding too, the top places to live in the US are concentrated here in the Northern California.

I’ve visited Academy of Art College in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Home of hiring firms such as Audi, Ford, Volkswagen BMW, Walt Disney, Silicon Graphics, Industrial Light & magic, Dreamworks, Lucas Film, and many more.

The visit was exciting and made me further more depressed of how Canada’s Industry is so pathetic I terms of impacting globally. There are so much support from the industry here comparable to Canada.

To a lighter note, I’m getting in touch with a individual who is in need of an individual that is skilled in design as well as Public Relations. His business is of the PR for Real Estate Agents across the expensive regions of Northern California [over US$700 000+] He’s been so stacked in his work that his answering machine calls off any further potential clients. So we’ll see how that goes…

yes yes the pictures under ideo are huge..
but it's best that U look at them big...
if those of U are into DESIGN!!
U GOTTA SEE THIS!!!

IDEO masters of innovation
basically a innovative design company of 300 that designed for the following clients..
Pepsi, Palm, Handspring, GM Ford, SAM SUNG, Apple, Bio Tech.. and so much more...
This award-winning design and development firm brought you the first Apple mouse, Polariod's I-Zone instant camera, Handspring Treo, and hundreds of other cutting-edge products and services.

IDEO doesn't buy into the myth of the lone genius working away in isolation, waiting for great ideas to strike. tom Kelly [general manager] and his brother david Kelly [CEO] believes everyone can be creative, and the goal at his firm is to tap into that wellspring of cretivity in order to make innovation a way of life.
Their innovative design philosophy is the foundation to which this company builds on.

I was in awe of the 3 hours that I was there..
The photos shows some of the places that I remembered to get my cameras ou to shoot...
The ones I forgot I'll have to go back in a week or two ..
Palm & Handspring fans!!!
Dennis Boyle was the one who stuck with the Jeff Hawkins to produce the styling Palm V to the latest Handspring Treo...
The Palm V was actually designed by a team lead by a woman and dominated by a women human factor team... so that the Palm would have an appeal to the woman market...
By the way, I am thinking of going to change over to Handsring mmmm.....

N'E ways, I'll be back there soon again..
maybe more pics later...
