More new packing design projects
Redoing KOSS and Magnasonic packaging...
work work work..
something I did while I was bored.. ok not bored... more like fooling around..
It's a computer rendering of a living room..
[_Click here_]
It's Chinese new year time..
funny how you hear like "it's the year of the Goat"
or the "year of the Ram"
But in Chinese, "yeung" is actually a goat .. not a ram...
some people thinks it's a sheep.. but there are no sheep on China...
That particular species does not exist in China...
When Chines refer to "yeung" they refer to the mountain goat..
Nways.. I just wish people would get a straight...

Hectic...
I received a package of the design products that I have done For Yan Can Cook…
Through out the time I came back to Toronto,
I’ve received enough things from Yan Can Cook that even the regular FedEx guy is starting to ask me if he can get hookups on a cookbook from Martin Yan = )
Sorry Gerrome & Nevin.. I only got one sample of each..
And it's for reference only... so I can’t give that away…
I’ll make sure I’ll ask for a few more sample on next project I do.
Now my office has an 4 additional more knives..
My momis starting to give me the weird look = P
Well for the next two months, it looks I’ll be crammed with a few more new projects...
Couple more for Martin, and a big one for another branding design...
It just keeps coming... good and bad I guess…
Beause I'm actually going have to hold back and give more time for my portfolio...
Things are getting more and more hectic in prioritizing..
Time management... I thought I had it bad in University..
Working on several projects and portfolio at once makes it worst than ever...
it's also hard when I have to deal with couple different time zones
The Yan Can Cook office staff is in California, so that's Mountain time..
Martin Yan on the other hand travels back and forth from Asia like Singapore, Malaysia..
And then he stop by to every part of the U.S. non-stop...
Then there are the consumer electronic designs that I'm involving with...
Having to keep in close communication with China manufacturing houses and design studios is stressing...
Chinese relations are taxing my patience...
With the upcoming 'Chinese New Year' celebration will help for a bit..
Till February at least...
I'm still torn between going to school for industrial design, and working full time and start racking in some steady $$$..
we'll see where God leads me in this cross road...

New Layout
Trying to spice up this Journal Entries page
So I decide to take on some web-coding challenge...
As it turns out, trying to code a webpage without interferring with the 'Blogger coding' is pretty 'dang' hard!!
~But after some time of messing around..
I kinda got what I want..
For a non-coder like me..
I had a 'fun time' trying to figure out the codes for the blogger program, java codes, ~while missing my own stuff
It was worth it... non-the-less..
I enjoyed it and learn something in the process..
enjoy..

What have I been up to? ...Hand renderings...
These are the 'tests' renderings that I've done…
Why call them 'test renderings' you ask?
Well first of all... most ppl use overlays or underlays on renderings...
Meaning, some prefer to just draw over what's been drawn...
Why you ask?
Well first draft rendering usually might make some careless mistakes…
Like over-spread, bleeding... and may even look disoriented on the perspectives
So this is a chance to redo it and clean up the lines…
Final version should look a lot more sharp and clean
So I'll be sharper and precise in my lines
I will also be using a different grade of paper for the final version..
I had not anticipated that this paper grade would bleed so much…
I’ll be using a type of paper that has a 20~30% tone in it too…
Gives it a real sweet professional look…
If I’m about as half as good as my mother I’ll be happy
I’ve also been trying my hands on automotive rendering
let me see how that’ll turn out…
Stay Tune

4 x 4 Dodge Dakota
I had a schedule maintenance check-up for my Honda today…
It was going to take most of the day, so they offered a compliment car rental.
Seems kind of nice… so I went with the maintenance…
When all the paper work for the maintenance was done…
I went over to get my complimentary car rental for the day…
I thought I was going to get another civic sedan or something..
But…
Car rental: mmmm.. it seems all our vehicles are taken for today…
B: Does that happen often…
Car rental: : no actually.. first time… but I have to call outside to our suppliers to see if we can call in a car for you...
couple minutes later…
Car rental: Ahhhh. Sir.. we have a 2002 Dodge Dakota …
B: what’s that?
Car rental: mmmm.. it’s a 4x4 pick-up truck…
B: what!?!? Well I don’t think….
(I looked outside and saw the massive pile of snow outside)
(I thought of me ‘plowing’ over it with my huge mother 4 wheeler…)
Hell… Why not! Yeah I’ll take that…
Car rental: (grinning) ok then…
So I picked up Dennis and drove downtown and have lunch with G and Jon…
Coming downtown was quite exciting since it's nice to cut off people when you have a massive car..
and you can cut off someone when they're driving slow by riding on the sidewalk...

sniff sniff... I'll be missing the annual C.E.S.
Consumer Electronic Show
ahhhhhh.. yes. it's the annual CES
I've been working my ass for the past couple of weeks because of it...
So are many other buyers, merchadizers, and company both promoters... like Panasonic, Sony, Sanyo, Sam Sung and other known brand names...
Although there's a ton of people, and frequently crowded at every single corner... it's all worth it at the end of the day...
CES pretty is a show that displays all of products of consumer electronics...
gadgetslike PDAs to cell phones to laptops to even washing machines design by Porsche...
Neways.. too bad.. I always like going to it
but my portfolio needs some kicking ass.. as do I too...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Drove down to the beaches.. and took some photos..
Did some chilling at the Eatons...
then hung with Viv & Jensen and Viv&Elaine's old highschool friends...
It's another year... 2003...
since I don't believe in New years resolution..
I have nothing much to spit out...
Most of my new years are either spent on a plane on my way to some where...
I've never had a thing for the count down...
One time it was kinda funny when the pilot of the plane spoke during the flight...
The on-board movie was suddenly paused..
"... ladies and gentlemen... This is the Captain speaking.."
"May I draw your attention to the New Years count down... ready?..."
"10..9..8..7..6..5..4..3.."
"..Ooh! sorry.. that concludes our count down.. since we are now flying over the Central Time zone.."
