WHERE HAVE I BEEN?
I've been extremely busy to say the least..
I pretty DO NOT sleep from Tuesday through Friday…
Classes have bulked up in work…
In addition, I have also started writing my master thesis proposal...
Just when I thought my past thesis on my Bachelor, I get to do another one…
BUT... this one would be purely out of my desire, something I really want to spent the next 2 years researching on…
Master Thesis in Industrial Design is something Pratt pays special attention to…
They make it to a point that it be the best publication on a piece of paper.
Many thesis advisors also sit on top of us, every single phase of the process to ensure all inquiries in your thesis subject matter are met.
My school load would only be worst next semester…
But then, this is something I love… so it should be worth it in the end…
One notable news is, (if all things go according to plan and schedule), I will embark on a 6 week adventure back to the far east this summer (finally…)
I’ve also been pushing off this trip for the longest time, because of school, work, or working my ass off to submit for my graduate programs.
I’ve traveled since I was 3 and never stopped at one place longer than 6 months…
So what makes this time any different?
Well, this time I get to actually go with a special someone, a significant other…
I’ve always wanted that someone to share all my adventures with…
And for once in my lifetime, I get to do that…
And for someone like Elaine, who have never ventured outside of the Eastern Time Zone, it is definitely something BIG for her too…
So we are totally excited that we get to have a crazy summer together this year…
But this trip is part work/business than play… as all my trips are, they are never for strictly personal…
I will be heavily concentrating on looking at all the major manufacturing processes and operations in China… Since a industrial design must always be in touch of all the latest manufacturing methods in order to successfully produce their designs from drawing and CG rendering come to reality… If you knew some of the techniques Apple Computer goes about in making their products, and compare them to conventional manufacturing, you would then understand why their price margin is so much higher… I had to sit through a 5 hour seminar on the production methods of all the Apple innovative manufacturing techniques… For all you engineers, I’m sure all you would enjoy that…
Anyways, I gotta bounce and hit the studio and finish CNC another part for my prototype…
